This project was designed to solve an environmental problem in the area of the Main Barcelona Football Soccer stadium, a neglected plaza with a depressed environment. Therefore this proposal was to improve the surrounding environment of the stadium, as well as a smaller plaza that contains the Ministadium used mainly for the football soccer team rehearsals.

It was therefore very important to research for solutions that, by impacting the area, could regenerate the area and add new attractions to attract the Barcelona community, mainly youth and infants, the future forces of tomorrow.

It is important to notice from an urban communication stand point, how the two main blvd. diagonals were connected by street, solving access as well as providing an exit for the massive amount of people that would attend these games. Facilitating the communication in the whole area.

We developed two main plazas that contain the Barcelona Plaza, the main football, soccer stadium and a smaller one that contains the ministadium, a tennis club, and an ice skiing ring.

Plaza Barcelona:

On the main plaza, which would have, in its landscaped center, an amphitheater, a children's museum, water mirrors, and water games as well as general services and with an irregular mounding solution, would make this area attractive as well as it will reduce the vehicular noise of the surrounding. It would have a high rise 30 stories high, with offices in the lower part of the building and apartments on the upper floors, and a restaurant with a magnificent view. The first floor separated from the ground floor for 4 levels to create an openness of the whole area. There would be a lower floor building from commercial uses in a two story high structure, for galleries, cafe's bookstores, etc.

Plaza of the Fountains:

On this smaller plaza would be a sculptured garden, with lush landscaping. It is related to the tennis club and ice skating ring, the area of orange trees as a small area typical of Spain. A garden of purple plumb trees, and a children's labyrinth. It also has a 25 story high rise, similar in concept to the one in the Barcelona Plaza, circular and the apartments would be of lesser value. The offices would be in the lower floors and the apartments in the upper ones separated by an open space 3 stories high. The terrace would be used for the same purpose as the Barcelona Plaza Tower. A winding four story office building that embraces the tower, but keeps its lower area open five stories high in order to have transparency to the surrounding spaces in which manner you achieve integrating this area with the colinding urban blocks which will no doubt impact the whole neighborhood and appraise the real estate.

Plazas with Humanism, where people get together, children enjoy and play in these grounds. By creating an interest in this small world, where you can recall the medieval and renaissance plazas of human interaction.
